Jinan, “the city of springs” is the birth place of Confucius and is currently surpassing Tianjin in economic development rates. While smaller than Tianjin the city offers all the modern amenities one would expect from a modern metropolis as well as beautiful surrounding mountains. Jinan is a quick train trip away from Qingdao, China’s beer capital, Tianjin and Beijing are also within easy reach.
