JOB DESCRIPTION
English Teacher
Location: Beijing
Main Responsibilities
Provide a detailed syllabus for class schedules throughout the school year with lessons based on test standards and school missions.
Teaching students according to their individual educational needs, including the appropriate classroom setting and providing feedback on homework carried out by students.
Assisting with duties assigned by the Field of English and Humanities Research Coordinator.
Assessing, recording, and reporting on the attendance, academic progress, classroom behavior and keeping electronic records as required.
Maintaining discipline according to school rules, and to encourage good practice of punctuality, behavior, standards of homework assignment and collaborative learning as well as self-learning skills.
Marking and grading students work and give timely verbal/written feedback.
Engaging students in active class instructions or discussions.
Work with Department of College Counseling and other departments to integrate college-related skills (i.e. personal statement writing, interviewing, etc.) and testing (TOFEL, SAT, etc.) into school curricula.
Meet school targets for Huikao and other tests.
Writing school recommendation for senior classes.
Serve as an advisor to a small group of students to mentor them through school life and activities.
Attend all meetings and events held in school for subject teachers and student activities.
Working Schedule
Full time. Monday to Friday 8:00-5:00 (Chinese national holidays off)
Starting Date: ASAP
Education
Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) from an accredited college/university in related subject.
Experience
Background in writing and literature is preferred, with 2 years'experience.
Ease and experience with computers, Internet, emails, and proficient typing abilities in English.
Knowledge of related applications including MS Office, MS Excel, Naviance, and any teaching platform such as Nimbus or SchoolPal.
Benefits
Salary is starting from 15000-20,000 RMB after tax and negotiable based on qualifications and experiences.
Vacation: Paid Chinese national holidays
Housing allowance (3,000 RMB a month)
5-10% raise on salary for each contract renewal
