Founded in 1985,Shenzhen City College has become the only one training institute authorized directly by Shenzhen Municipal Coucil. It provides a platform for lifelong learning . As a training base designated by Ministry of Education of Guangdong Province, City College is a large comprehensive governmental training institute for continuing education and community education. It offers a wide range of professional training courses including adult education, trainings to principals of kindergatens, public primary and middle schools, trainings to adult eduction mangerment cadres, as well as on-job training to teachers working in kindergatens, public primary and middles schools.

Shenzhen City College also cooperates with Disctrict Education Bureaus in Shenzhen to recuite native ESL teachers to teach in the public primary and middle schools .
