Shanghai Shangde Experimental School (SSES) is a private Chinese school founded in 2003. It is a boarding school, which caters for about 10,000 students from Kindergarten to Senior High School (3 -19 years old) from all parts of China and a small number of international students.
While most of the school follows the Chinese National Curriculum, the Integrated Department caters for those who are seeking an international education, and wish to further their studies in an overseas university. Since April 2010, the school has been authorised to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programmes, and so became an IB World School. We are now the only Chinese school in Shanghai that is authorised by the IBO to offer all it's programmes.
Its first kindergarten(Shanghai Shangde Kindergarten) was founded in 2013 as part of the larger school campus. Doubling in size each year, the kindergarten is now spread out over three sites in Shanghai, with an aim to expand even further in the future. We strongly emphasize creative approaches to learning, where the students can express themselves through play and activities while learning in a caring and supportive environment. Through positive reinforcement and encouraged autonomy, children can find their own path to a fulfilling and rewarding education.
