First Leap was founded in 2008, and has been growing dramatically, with a healthy and positive company culture. We are English training institute for children range from 1.5 to 15 years old.
4 Back in 2009, we only had 1 center with 4 international teachers in Beijing, currently we have almost 90 centers in more than 30 cities, with about 400 international teachers and 2000 Chinese teachers work at FL.
We have different products so far, such as onsite classes which you will mainly teach in your future center, online classes called First Leap TV which is a live broadcast, as well as designed application on phone called FCS. We also have some short classes during summer or winter holidays.
A class is no more than 14 kids, we try to keep it small, easy for teachers to control, and have more one on one practice opportunities. Our students are from 1.5 to 15, and divide by age in to different stages. Lower stage classes will have Chinese teacher as their teaching assistant. The curriculum has 16 stages in total, which covers young children stage, pre-school stage, primary and junior high school stage (Baby Start, Kick Start, Jump Start, Early Start, and Super Start). The Kick Start, Jump Start, and Early Start, are also called KJE, are First Leap’s primary products and have the largest groups of students who are aged from 3 to 10.
The curriculum system is based on the CLIL (Content Language Integrated Learning) education concept with the high-tech education method, which developed and innovated by our own researchers (foreign/local) in the R&D Department of First Leap.
Our Curriculum include 10 different subjects, Chinese teacher teach one subject which is called Language Arts, and rest of 9 subjects are covered by international teachers, such as Art/ Music/ Global leadership/ Book Reading/ World Culture/ Science/ Logical Thinking/ Virtual PE/ Drama.
Each lesson has a whole teaching package, including the flipchart, the lesson plan as well as any necessary extra activity materials. Each part should be reviewed several times before class while preparing. What you need to prepare is to go through the flipchart and follow the lesson plan, and also you will have a Chinese teacher to assist you during the class if you teach young children
stages and pre-school stages.
In addition, we have a program is called SLP (Standardized Lesson Program) which is designed for teachers to prepare for classes and improve teaching quality. Our lessons are filmed one by one and you can watch them online everywhere and every time.
