TV Presenter+Teacher

We are currently looking for enthusiastic and experienced teachers for our K-12 Curriculum Development Department in sub-brand XRS English.

K-12 Curriculum Development Department, as one of the main departments, is responsible for the design of the framework and content of English courses, as well as designing lesson plans, creating lesson materials to supplement existing courseware, and selecting additional educational products. The curriculum department researches, develops, and compiles a complete and coherent set of educational products.

This position is involved in the programme for overachievers from kindergarten to Grade 6 and the candidate is expected to work as the curriculum developer as well as the teacher.


Introduction to the teaching model
In our primary school classes, two teachers teach in turns. One class is taught by native English teacher and another by bilingual Chinese teacher. Both of them give lessons to students face to face. The former focuses on linguistic skills and cross-cultural understanding or literature skills while the latter puts more emphasis on basic language features （grammar and vocabulary）and exam skills.
Student age: 5-12 years old (G1-6)
Class size: 3-12 students / classroom.
Class duration:180min or 155 min (depending on the grade)

In our kindergarten classes, there are also two teachers. A bilingual Chinese teacher gives a lesson face to face each week, and a native English teacher records a story-telling video which will be watched online by the same student group each week.

Class size: 3-12 students / classroom.
Class duration: 90min (face-to-face class) / 3-5 min (online story-telling video course)

Job Description
Location: Beijing
Full time: Yes (Wednesday-Friday, Saturday and Sunday)
Responsibilities:
TV Presenter Section:
Develop the online video course, including writing scripts for the course with other members, designing proper supplementary materials and teaching aids, and prepare every other things needed for the course to make it perfect
Perform and present the course in front of a camera;
Teacher Section:
Improve the course according to the feedback from the students and parents
Teach English classes following lesson plans provided, including listening, speaking, writing, etc. (to deliver English lessons to 5-10 classes of G1-G6 students per week with each class lasting 2/3 hours)
To evaluate students’ progress, mark students’ homework or projects and provide ongoing feedback.
Attend meetings and trainings
Schedule:
Feb - July & Sep - Jan:
Office Work: Wednesday-Friday, 9:30-18:30 (including 1-hour lunch break)
Teaching: Sat. Sun. (8:00-20:25)
July & Aug (six weeks)/Ja n & Feb (three weeks):
Office Work: Wednesday-Friday, 9:30-18:30 (provided teacher doesn’t have any classes to teach during these days.)
Teaching:
Summer: 5 days working, 1 day off and then 5 days working (office work isn’t needed during lessons)
Winter: 7 days working, 1 day off (office work isn’t needed during lessons)

Monthly Salary（before tax): 30K--40K RMB

Job Requirements:
Degree: BA or above in teaching-related field (Education, linguistics or English degree are preferred)
Experience in Public Schools or International Schools is preferred.
Preferably with TESOL/TEFL or related English certificates preferred.
ESL/EFL teaching experience is preferred
Highly interactive with student in class; lively and energetic while teaching
Passionate about teaching YLs, out-going, responsible, creative
Being able to work during some holidays.
