Xiyuan is a modern training center mainly for 3-16 years old students and adults, covered subjects as English, Art, Calligraphy, Sketch, traditional Chinese painting, etc. It is struggling for being as the ideal study area for the families who live around, supporting them in studying skills and other aspects they want to improve. Now we have three branches of the center, including English center, Art center, Music center. The number of students is up to 600 this month.
Introduction of English Department
We’d like to invite you to our English center, which is totally different from other Centers, with brand new English studying conceptions. We encourage students here to study English with natural speaking environment and communicate in sentences in normal life. We have three class types for improvements, such as grammar class, reading class and experience class.
In terms of our curriculum, there are three rules as follow:
-Integrate Western culture/logic/thinking into each lesson
Lessons can be taught through an English ‘lens’ (perspective) following traditional English teaching methods and sharing English language culture pertaining (related) to each lesson.
-Parent/Child cooperative program monthly
Design a monthly parent-child activity that culminates—or connects—the lessons for that month into an activity.
-Chinese/Western Culture-language comparison
Compare English and Chinese language and culture as we go along. We learn by differentiating. Differentiating is simply comparing two things and understanding similarities and differences.
